In recent days and weeks, a number of Israeli officials and lawmakers proposed “draft laws” that would effectively formalize Israel’s de facto racism and seriously restrict the human and civil rights of Israel’s non-Jewish citizens.  One of the proposals being discussed would criminalize the commemoration of Nakba by Palestinians holding the Israeli citizenship. The current move to ‘cleanse’ the airwaves involves pro-Israeli members of the congress who are in the process of submitting a bill that seeks to target satellite stations as “terrorist organizations”. The following international report concluding that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories “has become a colonial enterprise which implements a system of apartheid” was sent out by journalist Ben White.
